Proposals

  1. Compulsory financial education for new/first-time workers
  2. Hold a "community week" event in schools where schools kids are encouraged to join volunteer groups
  3. Expand peer support programs to include more students in years 7 and 8 and more leaders in senior years to build up peer relationships and mentoring

ISSUE: A World Class Education System

Mission Statement: Establishing a national education system by 2020 which is recognised by world standards

Proposals

  1. World class educators - increase pay and/or incentives - specialised areas of teaching - equality between teachers
  2. The national standard - nation-wide test syllabus - multiple assessors - open feed back system - focus core subjects, core learning
  3. Facilities - funding to complement syllabus - modernise facilities - career education + equipping - choice and follow through
  4. Levels of education - standardised levels of education, pre-school --> tertiary - compulsory pre-school - national level of education

ISSUE: Community Services

Mission Statement: To empower individuals by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and resources to regain control of their lives

Proposals

  1. Youth homelessness - availability / accessibility of services - employing more staff
  2. Drug and alcohol - giving young people the more efficient knowledge to help prevent theses issues and more resources to help those already affected take control over the lives.
  3. Volunteer Services - enhanced social skills
  4. Social events - youth facilities

ISSUE: Environment

Mission Statement: Building towards the future for an easier, more sustainable environment for the future

Proposals

  1. Public Transport: integrated ticketing system for all transport forms, more car parks available in suburban areas, an easier, more frequent and reliable public transport timetable
  2. Water Tanks: compulsory water tanks for schools, industrial sites and new houses. Decide which water form for each use e.g. grey water + recycled water
  3. Bush Care: instead of paying HECs debts, we should encourage younger people to volunteer to pay off the fees involved
  4. Global Environment Issues: create global incentives for developing countries to meet global emission standards

ISSUE: Living Together

  1. Have national multicultural awareness public holiday and festivals to promote further understanding between Australians with various heritages

  3. Incentives for new Australians to use the resources that support and reach out programs offer
